Vistara launches flight to Pune from Delhi

With the addition of Pune in Vistara's route network, its customers can travel from its base Delhi to Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Goa, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Bagdogra and vice versa.

New Delhi: Tata-SIA joint venture airline Vistara on Thursday launched a flight service to Pune from Delhi to tap the growing traffic from Maharashtra's second largest city, which is also the base of some auto majors including Mercedes, Volkswagen besides home-grown Tata and Mahindra.

With the addition of Pune in Vistara's route network, its customers can travel from its base Delhi to Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Goa, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Bagdogra and vice versa.

"Pune has some of the well-developed conglomerates. With the addition of Pune on its network, Vistara's footprint in India continues to grow at a rapid pace with newer destinations to be announced later this year," Vistara chief executive Phee Teik Yeoh said.

The airline is confident that travellers between Pune and Delhi will avail the opportunity to enjoy the quintessential Vistara experience, he said.

Vistara has deployed a 148-seater A320 aircraft in three class configurations with 16 seats in business class, 36 in premium economy seats and the rest 96 in economy class.

Vistara is the first domestic airline, which offers premium economy in its planes.
