New Delhi: The Delhi court on Tuesday allowed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to drop DMK supremo M Karunanidhi's daughter S Selvi as a witness in the 2G scam-related money laundering case.
Earlier in November, the ED had arrayed Selvi as one of the witnesses in a 2G scam-related money laundering case.
The DMK Supremo's wife Dayalu Ammal was also earlier put on trial by the Delhi court.
Selvi, the daughter of Karunanidhi, was among the 30 persons named by the ED as prosecution witnesses in the case in which the court had framed charges against ex-Telecom Minister A Raja, DMK MP Kanimozhi, Dayalu Ammal and 16 others, including nine companies, under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Besides Selvi, ED had named as witnesses its Deputy Director Rajeshwar Singh, Assistant Directors Satyendra Singh and Kamal Singh, who are investigating officers in the case.
