Manufacturing sector in India will be strengthened to trigger massive employment generation, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday.

New Delhi: Manufacturing sector in India will be strengthened to trigger massive employment generation, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday.

Addressing a function organised by Uday India, a weekly publication, Singh said it is with this objective the 'Make in India' initiative has been launched.

"This government means business, this government means reforms. We are doing our best," he said.

The Home Minister said the NDA government was determined to ensure that the economy turns around for the better and become robust.

"The 'Make in India' campaign can take India to a greater height," he said.

Singh claimed that the BJP-led NDA government headed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee between had made the economy so strong that it withstood the global economic recession.

He blamed the alleged misrule of the Congress-led UPA between 2004-2014 for India "losing" prominence globally.

"The NDA government under Narendra Modi will make India a economic super power," he said.
