The Delhi High Court on Friday refused to stay the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority order fixing prices of over 100 non- scheduled drugs.
The court issued notice to NPPA on the plea of an association of drug manufacturers against the price fixation order of the authority.
Last month, drug pricing regulator NPPA had fixed the price of 108 non-scheduled formulation packs of 50 anti-diabetes and cardiac medicines.
“The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed the prices of anti-diabetic and cardiovascular in respect of 108 non-scheduled formulation packs under Paragraph 19 of DPCO, 2013,” NPPA had earlier said in a notification.
Under the Drug Price Control Order (DPCO) 2013, the Government currently controls the prices of 652 essential drugs listed in the NLEM.
