Delhi metro stations' names up for grabs

In a major innovative step to boost revenues, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to auction off some of its stations' names.

New Delhi: In a major innovative step to boost revenues, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to auction off some of its stations' names.

While some of the stations' names can carry the names of the companies, the stations' original names can also be prefixed or suffixed by the companies' names.

Meanwhile, the practice of naming metro stations after corporate houses have already been implemented by Gurgaon's Rapid Metro. But, the Delhi metro will also give the companies the opportunity to use their own colour schemes inside the stations along with their products' advertisements.

In the initial phase, the stations' names which are up for grabs are- Huda City Centre, IFFCO Chowk, MG Road, Guru Dronacharya, Noida City Centre, Golf Course, Botanical Garden, Noida Sector 18 and Vaishali.
