Inflation rises marginally to 0.11% in December from zero in November

Inflation for the month of December rose marginally to 0.11 percent from zero percent in November on the back of a slightly higher prices of essential commodities.

New Delhi: Inflation for the month of December rose marginally to 0.11 percent from zero percent in November on the back of a slightly higher prices of essential commodities.

The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) based inflation was at 6.40 percent in the same month in 2013.

In November, the WPI inflation stood at zero percent, the lowest in five years.

On the other hand, the retail inflation for the month of December rose for the first time in five months to 5 percent as compared to the 4.38 percent in November.

A data released by the government today showed little challenges in the prices of essential commodities over the month.
