LPG subsidies to be transfferred into accounts from Jan 1

But for this, the consumer needs to give a copy of completely filled up Form 'PAHAL' to the gas distributor and another copy to the bank where he has his account.

Gurgaon: All benefits to LPG gas consumers in Gurgaon district will be given through Aadhaar linked bank account from January 1, 2015, as the amount of subsidy of LPG cylinder will be deposited directly into the consumer's bank account.

But for this, the consumer needs to give a copy of completely filled up Form 'PAHAL' to the gas distributor and another copy to the bank where he has his account.

Deputy Commissioner, T L SatyaPrakash in a press conference informed that the PAHAL or Pratyaksh Hanstantrik Labh form is available on the website of Gurgaon administration and also given free of cost by gas agencies.

He said that till now about 74 percent of the residents have 'Aadhaar' (UID) but only 21 percent have submitted it at the gas agency and only 12 percent have submitted it at the banks.

That means, only 12 percent are entitled to get the gas subsidies presently.
He said that the administration needs to do it on war footing.

For this, a special drive would be initiated from December 20 to 30 to enable 100 percent linking of Aadhaar with bank accounts. The banks would be open on all days during the drive and they will accept PAHAL forms on all these days, he said.

Cash equivalent to the difference between the current subsidized rate and the market rate would be transferred to the bank account of a consumer the moment he or she makes the first booking of the cylinder after joining the scheme.

Satya Prakash said that the bank accounts of those not having Aadhaar will also be linked at the gas agency but priority is Aadhaar.

He said that presently 40 machines are deployed for Aadhaar enrolment in the district and the Mayor's team, Municipal Councilors and other public representatives were being roped in so that the entire population is covered within next 6 months as "Aadhaar is going to become 'aadhaar' (base) of every benefit from the government".

?Presently only 1,000 persons were being enrolled daily whereas the number should be minimum 3,000 with this number of machines," he said.
