New Delhi: Getting an LPG connection will be hassle free as you will soon be able to book your new LPG connection online.

As per a Times of India report, state-run fuel companies will launch a web-based booking system for LPG connections. The initiative is a part of PM Modi's 'Digital India' campaign, the TOI said.

The paper further said that customers, through this process will no longer be forced by the dealers to buy cook-tops in addition to buying the LPG connection. However, if they want to buy, the portal will have options for them through which they can order cooking stove.

Where to book?
The facility will be available on the government's LPG portal "Pahal" as well as on the websites of each oil company.
How to file application?
Customers can file their application online. A nearby dealer will be automatically detected by the system and a customer ID number will be generated within 48 hours of applying. This will then be forwarded to the customer via email or message.

How to proceed for payment?
After getting this customer ID, customer can make online payment and wait for verification. Once it is completed, the dealer will deliver the regulator, cylinder and rubber pipe to the new consumer.
Time duration for getting connection
The paper says that the entire process from “application to delivery” will be completed within a week's time.
What about grievance number?
The paper said that a four-digit emergency response number will also be launched for addressing complaints of leakage. The new number will be the same all over the country.
