Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met the CEOs of the Financial Sector at a roundtable at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, New York and said his government was fully committed to supporting the Public Private Partnership.

The Waldorf Astoria Hotel, New York is the same hotel where the Prime Minister of India is staying.

Addressing the meet, PM Modi candidly spoke and outline his vision for India while assuring the CEOs of the Financial Sector that his government is fully committed to supporting the Public Private Partnership.

Those present for the meet includes Jamie Dimon, Chairman and CEO of JP Morgan, Steve Schwarzman, Chairman and CEO of Blackstone, Charles Kaye, Co-CEO of Warburg Pincus, Henry Kravis, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO of KKR, Bill Ford, CEO of General Atlantic, Peter Hancock, CEO of AIG Insurance, Chase Coleman, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Tiger Global and Vicki Fuller, Chief Investment Officer of NY State Common Retirement Fund.

Talking about the economic growth of the country, PM Modi informed the CEOs that India's GDP had grown by 7.3 percent in the previous year with a 40 percent increase in foreign direct investment.

The World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and Moody's say the economic climate of India is bound to improve, he told the CEOs.

He also spoke of the efforts of the government in the last 15 months for increasing investment in areas of taxation, infrastructure and FDI.

PM Modi arrived in US early Thursday morning on a five-day visit during which he will address world leaders at a landmark UN sustainable development summit and also meet president Barack Obama.

Later today, he will also headline a roundtable on media and communications hosted by News Corp's Rupert Murdoch and attend a dinner with Fortune 500 company CEOs. He would then fly to the West Coast for his visit to California from September 26-27.
