Petrol price hiked by 75 paise; diesel by 50 paise

Petrol in Delhi currently costs Rs 71.51 per litre and after the increase it will be priced at Rs 72.43 per litre, including VAT.

New Delhi: Oil marketing companies on Friday increased petrol price by 75 paise a litre, diesel by 50 paise, with effect from midnight tonight.

Diesel rates will go up marginally from Rs 53.80 a litre to Rs 54.34 in Delhi.

Petrol price was last hiked on December 20 by 41 paise a litre following the government decision to raise commission paid to petrol pump dealers and firming global oil rates.

Simultaneously, diesel rates were increased by 10 paise per litre due to a hike in dealers commission.

Delhi: Rs 72.43

Mumbai: Rs 79.52

Chennai: Rs 75.68

Kolkata: Rs 79.55
