New Delhi: Petrol price on Tuesday was cut by 31 paise a litre, and diesel price by 71 paise a litre, effective midnight tonight.
Earlier on June 16, fuel retailers increased petrol prices by Rs 0.64 a litre and cut diesel by Rs 1.35 a litre after aligning them with international prices and adjusting for foreign exchange rates.
On May 16, petrol price was hiked by Rs 3.13 a litre and diesel by Rs 2.71 per litre.
However, on June 1, companies skipped raising rates by 30-40 paise that had become necessary due to rise in international rates.
