New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday scrapped four cabinet committees, including
one on Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
Moreover Cabinet Committee on Economic affairs will handle the functions of Cabinet Committee on prices henceforth.
Coincidentally, CPI's Rajya Sabha member M P Achuthan yesterday requested Narendra Modi to "scrap" the Aadhaar project launched by the UPA government in the wake of reports that US security agency NSA was allegedly "collecting the biometric data of Indian citizens".
