Shares of Hero MotoCorp Wednesday fell by over 1 percent as the strike by transporters in Haryana hit half of the company's despataches from Gurgaon and Dharuhera plants.

Mumbai: Shares of Hero MotoCorp Wednesday fell by over 1 percent as the strike by transporters in Haryana hit half of the company's despataches from Gurgaon and Dharuhera plants.

Scrip of India's two-wheeler market leader went down by 1.15 percent to settle at Rs 2,977.10 on the BSE. During the day, it fell by 1.48 percent to Rs 2,967.05.

At the NSE, it lost 1.24 percent to Rs 2,977.

"The transporters' strike today has impacted the despatches from our plants in Gurgaon and Dharuhera. We could despatch only half of our average daily despatches from these two plants today," the company said in a filing to the BSE.

The company has a daily average despatch of around 12,000 units in the off-season around this time of the year from the two plants.

Hero MotoCorp said it is trying to make alternative arrangements to minimise further impact.
