Markets fall for 3rd day; Sensex down nearly 100 points

The 30-share barometer ended lower by 96.29 points or 0.38 percent to 25,105.51 points.

The benchmark BSE Sensex fell for the third straight session on Friday, hitting their lowest close in over two weeks as Mahindra and Mahindra declined on concerns over weak monsoon, while other blue-chips slipped on Iraq violence led risk aversion.

Mahindra and Mahindra provisionally fell 3.1 percent, while ICICI Bank ended 1 percent lower.

The 30-share barometer ended lower by 96.29 points or 0.38 percent to 25,105.51 points. The index had lost 319.39 points in the previous two sessions.

Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty moved down by 29.25 points or 0.39 percent to 7,511.45.
