New Delhi: The NSE Nifty and BSE Sensex on Monday scaled new record highs.
Sensex scaled up 129.77 points to hit new record high of 26,520.73. Similarly, the 50-issue Nifty Nifty breached 7,900-mark for the first time.
Meanwhie the rupee is trading higher at 60.71 as against Thursday`s close of 60.76.
All sectoral indices led by metal and capital goods were trading in positive zone with gains up to 1.33 percent.
Further, a firming trend in other Asian markets on easing concerns over Ukraine and overnight gains in US markets influenced trading sentiments.
Among other Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei gained 0.91 per cent, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng was up 0.36 per cent in early trade today.
The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 1.06 per cent higher in yesterday's trade.
