NSE trading volume jumps over 50% in 2014-15

Kolkata: With stock markets remained buoyant during the 2014-15 fiscal, bourses saw a sharp jump in their average daily turnover.

National Stock Exchange (NSE) has registered a jump of 59 percent in average daily turnover in cash market to Rs 17,811 crore in 2014-15 over previous fiscal.

While, equity derivatives daily average turnover during the year stood at Rs 2,28,824 crore, a jump of 50 per cent, officials said.

The higher trading interest from investors across class helped the market scaling higher. NSE index Nifty 50 registered a rise of 26 percent.

NSE figures showed index opened the year at 6729 and moved higher by 1,762 points to close 2014-15 at 8491.
