Senior BJP leaders to discuss, review Mudra Scheme

BJP President Amit shah has called a meeting to discuss the functionality and implementation of Mudra Bank. More than a dozen senior BJP leaders will attend the meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

New Delhi: BJP President Amit shah has called a meeting to discuss the functionality and implementation of Mudra Bank. More than a dozen senior BJP leaders will attend the meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani, Union Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of State for Power Piyush Goyal, Union Health Minister J P Nadda, Minister of State for External Affairs and former army chief General V.K. Singh, Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, The Minister of State for Culture (Independent Charge), Tourism (Independent Charge) and Civil Aviation, Dr Mahesh Sharma, Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Pal Gurjar and Union Minister of State for Agriculture Sanjeev Balyan are among the prominent names that will participate in the discussion.

As per sources, the government feels that Mudra Bank, despite being an important scheme, has not been able to make its mark. The meeting will review the progress made with regard to Mudra scheme.

Pension and insurance schemes will also be discussed in the meeting.

BJP will organise Mudra Bank Mela in every district of the country between September 25 and October 02 wherein people can apply loan ranging from Rs 10 thousand to Rs 10 Lakh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in April launched MUDRA Bank which will provide credit of up to Rs 10 lakh to small entrepreneurs and act as a regulator for 'Micro-Finance Institutions' (MFIs).
