SJVN approves highest dividend of 0.98 per share in FY'14

The Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) has declared highest ever dividend of 0.98 per share (Rs 405.30 crore) during 2013-14 against 0.96 per share (Rs 397.12 crore) in 2012-13.

Shimla: The Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) has declared highest ever dividend of 0.98 per share (Rs 405.30 crore) during 2013-14 against 0.96 per share (Rs 397.12 crore) in 2012-13.

The dividend was declared at the Annual General Meeting of SJVN held here today and was highest since the 1,500-MW Nathpa-Jhakri flagship project of SJVN was commissioned in 2003-04.

Equity holders Government of India will get a dividend of Rs 261.35 crore (64.47 percent), Government of Himachal Pradesh Rs 103.37 crore (25.50 percent) and the public shareholders will get Rs 40.66 crore (10.3 percent).

SJVN earned a total revenue of Rs 2,110.72 crore as against Rs 1,927.36 crore and a net profit of Rs 1,114.36 crore during the year 2013-14.

During the year 2013-14, SJVN's 1500MW Nathpa Jhakri Power Station (NJHPS) continued to achieve new milestones of generation.

The plant generated 7,193.77 MUs of energy and exceeded design energy of 6,612 MUs at a record Normative Plant Availability Factor of 105.75 percent.

The power station also established a record by generating 39.147 million units of electricity in a single day on May 29, 2013 against the highest single day generation of 39.015 MUs on July 27, 2012.

The construction work of company's Rampur HEP was completed during the year and unit wise commissioning commenced from March 20,2014 with the synchronisation of its first 68.67 MW unit with the northern grid.

Synchronisation and commercial operations of 3 units and 1 unit has been accomplished on May 13 and June 18 this year, respectively.
