SpiceJet shares plunge over 5% as services grounded

Shares of SpiceJet tumbled over 5 percent as flight services of the cash-strapped company were grounded this morning on payment woes.

Mumbai: Shares of SpiceJet tumbled over 5 percent as flight services of the cash-strapped company were grounded this morning on payment woes.

SpiceJet's stock plunged 5.40 percent to settle at Rs 13.15 on the BSE. During the day, it slipped 8.27 percent to Rs 12.75.

On the volume front, 212.61 lakh shares of the company changed hands at the BSE during the day.
Flight services of SpiceJet were grounded this morning on fuel supplies issue even as the airlines said it will resume operations by this evening.

COO Sanjiv Kapoor tweeted, "Flights scheduled to depart on or after 4 pm today will operate. We apologise again for the disruptions."
