Suzlon shares close nearly 5% up on bourses

Sources said the order is worth around Rs 750 crore.

Mumbai: Shares of wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy on Thursday rose nearly five percent after the company bagged an order worth about Rs 750 crore for a project in Rajasthan.

Suzlon's stock ended at Rs 29.85 (its upper circuit limit), up 4.92 percent on the BSE.

At the NSE, the scrip settled 4.92 percent higher at Rs 29.85.

In terms of volume, 83.51 lakh shares were traded at the BSE, while over 4 crore shares changed hands at the NSE during the day.

The order for 100.8 MW wind farms has been awarded by ReNew Wind Power.

"The project is scheduled for execution at the Bhesada wind site, Dist Jaisalmer, Rajasthan," Suzlon said in a statement on Thursday .

It is a repeat order placed by ReNew Wind Power.

Sources said the order is worth around Rs 750 crore.

Meanwhile, in the broader market, the Sensex ended 213.68 points up at 25,019.51.
