Suzlon surges 17%; adds Rs 2,603 cr in m-cap in two days

Shares of wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy Wednesday surged nearly 17 percent in view of definitive pacts with Dilip Shanghvi Family and Associates (DSA) for equity investments of Rs 1,800 crore in the company.

Mumbai: Shares of wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy Wednesday surged nearly 17 percent in view of definitive pacts with Dilip Shanghvi Family and Associates (DSA) for equity investments of Rs 1,800 crore in the company.

The scrip zoomed 16.78 percent to settle at Rs 26.80 on the BSE. During the day, it surged 19.82 percent to Rs 27.50.

At the NSE, it jumped 15.65 percent to end at Rs 26.60.

The stock had surged 20 percent on Monday as well.

Stock markets were closed yesterday for a local holiday.

The company's market valuation surged Rs 2,603.41 crore in last two trading sessions after the deal.

Last week, Suzlon signed definitive pacts with DSA for equity investment of Rs 1,800 crore in the company, amounting to 23 percent stake.

DSA also announced an open offer to acquire 26 percent stake in Suzlon at Rs 18 per share aggregating to Rs 2,837 crore.
