China's inflation drops to 4-month low at 2% in August

China`s consumer price index (CPI) rose by 2.2 percent in the first eight months of the year from the same period in 2013.

Beijing: Chinese consumer prices rose 2.0 percent in August on-year, official data showed on Thursday, slipping to a four-month low and remaining well below the government`s annual inflation target.

China`s consumer price index (CPI) -- a main gauge of inflation -- also rose by 2.2 percent in the first eight months of the year from the same period in 2013, the National Bureau of Statistics said in a statement.
