Europe`s main stock markets fell at the start of trading on Thursday, with London`s benchmark FTSE 100 index losing 0.30 percent to 6,809.57 points.
In Frankfurt the DAX 30 dropped 0.20 percent to 11,242.87 points and the CAC 40 in Paris shed 0.16 percent to 4,926.77 compared with the closing levels on Wednesday.
Indices had risen on Wednesday as investors fished for bargain shares despite fears over a possible Greek default and euro exit.
