Europe`s main stock markets rebounded slightly at the start of trading on Friday, with London`s benchmark FTSE 100 index gaining 0.25 percent to 6,822.78 points.

Frankfurt`s DAX 30 rose 0.22 percent to 9,483.42 points and the CAC 40 index in Paris added 0.33 percent to 4,380.61 compared with Thursday`s close.

European equities sank Thursday as claims of Russian troops actively fighting in east Ukraine raised fears of a military confrontation between Kiev and its former Soviet master.
