Hong Kong shares up 1.42% by lunch

The Hang Seng Index added 398.80 points to 28,391.63 on turnover of HK$111.38 billion ($14.37 billion).

Hong Kong shares rallied 1.42 percent on Tuesday morning, in line with a regional advance, as investors bet on Beijing unveiling new measures to boost the Chinese economy.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 1.64 percent, or 78.93 points, to 4,892.73.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China`s second exchange, gained 2.78 percent, or 77.32 points, to 2,862.39.
