Irish economy grows 1.5% in second quarter

The Central Statistics Office confirmed that gross domestic product had jumped by 2.7 percent in the first quarter.

Dublin: Ireland`s economy expanded by 1.5 percent in the second quarter of 2014 compared with the first three months of the year, data issued by the eurozone nation showed on Thursday.

Last year, Ireland became the first of the financially-rescued eurozone countries to exit its bailout programme following a period of deep cuts in state spending and tax rises.
