The Nasdaq finished above 5,000 Monday for the first time in 15 years, capping a long-running recovery in the exchange after the dot-com bubble burst spectacularly in 2000.

New York: The Nasdaq finished above 5,000 Monday for the first time in 15 years, capping a long-running recovery in the exchange after the dot-com bubble burst spectacularly in 2000.

At the closing bell, the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index was at 5,007.39, up 43.87 points (0.88 percent). The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 both also stuck fresh records, the Dow up 150.34 (0.83 percent) to 18,283.04, and the S&P gaining 12.45 (0.59 percent) to 2,116.95.
