Apple not in business of seeking customers' personal information: Tim Cook

Washington: Apple`s CEO Tim Cook has said that his company`s business is not based on their customers` personal information and that they are only concerned about making money through their products.

Meanwhile, many companies in the Silicon Valley are caught up in government surveillance programs. Cook said that Apple is different from Microsoft and Google who scan their customers` emails to sell targeted advertising or prevent spam or malware.

According to CNET, Cook claims that they are not reading their customers` iMessages and that it is encrypted and they do not have the key to it.

Cook also said that he believed that the government erred in its data-collection efforts.
