New Delhi: The Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Tuesday rejected allegations against eCommerce companies Flipkart and Amazon for unfair business practices.

In November 2014, the fair trade regulator CCI had received a complaint against home-grown online retailer Flipkart and the US-based Amazon for unfair business practices.

The complains came after the online sites especially Flipkart offered big discounts on products sold on the site.

Moreover, Flipkart’s ‘Big Billion Day’ sale on October 6 had offered steep discounts on various products wherein the company claimed it say 1.5 million people buying products on the given day. The company further claimed that it sold products worth Rs 600 crore in just 10 hours under the scheme.

This had raised concerns among traders that such campaigns would badly affect players in the traditional retail market.
