Chromecast successor may be unveiled at Google event this month

The successor to the popular media streaming device is slated to be unveiled at the upcoming Google event later this month.

•It is expected to include enhancements such as customizable feeds on the home screen, improved WiFi performance and an all-new feature called ‘Fast Play’.

•The traditional dongle-like form factor is rumored to be changed up for a more approachable shape, and in different colors.

•Wireless capability to be bumped up to the newer gigabit-speed capable 802.11ac specification.
 
•This new version will purportedly bring support for customized content feeds on the home screen interface.

•All reports point to this device being launched at their 29 September event.
