PNB launches online facility for payment of property tax

The main highlight of this system will be that it will automatically calculate property tax payable on simply entering property details.

Chandigarh: Punjab National Bank on Friday rolled out online collection of property tax system for Mohali in Punjab, enabling people to pay their taxes online.

For the convenience of residents of Mohali, PNB and Municipal Corporation Mohali, have joined hands together to launch online collection of property tax by using Finacle software, an official of PNB said here.

The main highlight of this system will be that it will automatically calculate property tax payable on simply entering property details.

"For this, exhaustive Self Assessment Return has been simplified into five separate forms which automatically takes care of rebate, exemptions, penalty, interest and other cess," he said.

Speaking on the occasion, D K Sharma, DGM, Punjab National Bank said total business of PNB in Punjab as on date is Rs 70,000 crore, out of which deposits are to the tune of Rs 40,000 crore and rest are advances including the food credit planning.

PNB has a largest network of 650 branches in the state and 50 more branches shall be added by the end of this financial year.
