Canara Bank officers donate Rs 25 lk to kin of slain CRPF men

Coimbatore: Canara Bank Officers Association (CBOA) has collected a corpus of Rs 25 lakh to be distributed to the kin of 25 CRPF soldiers, who were killed in the Maoist ambush in Sukma in Chattisgarh last month.

The association planned to give Rs one lakh each to the families of the 25 CRPF soldiers. The officers, numbering 25,000 across the country contributed Rs.100 each for this noble cause, CBOA chairman J Vanangamudi told reporters here today.

Of the 25, two hailed from Tamil Nadu, he said.

He handed over a demand draft for Rs.One lakh to Selvi of Coimbatore, whose husband Thirumurugan was killed in the ambush on April 24 last.
