Bank of Ganga: Narendra Modi hints at more action to unearth black money; Virender Sehwag proposes 5 river banks

New Delhi: Hours after Prime Minister hinted at more action to unearth black money while addressing the Indian diaspora in Japan, a reflective Virender Sehwag 'proposed' five banks where the invalid notes can be deposited.

The former India opener took to Twitter, his favourite medium to communicate on matters of importance, on Sunday to support Modi's unprecedented move, and wrote, "After 31stMarch too,5 banks assigned to accept 500/1000. Banks of Ganga,Yamuna,Saraswati,Narmada,Godavari. #ModifiedForward #DeMonetisation".

And it reads serious, reflective enough in these times of crisis.

His reference to the holy rivers as banks probably came from Modi's speech in Japan yesterday, wherein the PM said that, “I make it very clear that if anything unaccounted comes up, then I will check its records since Independence. [And], will deploy as many people as required for this. Honest people will not face any problem. No one will be spared. Those who know me, they are intelligent as well. They think it is better to offer it in Ganga than in banks."

Viru, who is doing commentary for the official broadcasters of the India-England series, also managed to employ his witticism in each of his social media post and of late he has become an Internet sensation.

His brilliance with worth play doesn't stop in writing alone, though.

During the first India-England Test in Rajkot, Sri Lankan umpire Kumar Dharamsena committed more than a couple of visual errors forcing players to take the Decision Review System (DRS) recourse, and Sehwag was quick to pounce.

And during the commentary, he said on the lines of, "Full form of DRS should be changed from today onwards. It's known as a 'Dharamsena Review System'".
