Rohit Sharma-led India will take on Babar Azam'a Pakistan on August 28 at the Dubai International stadium in an evening, confirmed ACC president Jay Shah as he announced the full schedule of the tournament. The mega event kickstarts on August 27 with the opening game between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.

The wait is finally over as the battle for Asian supremacy commences on 27th August with the all-important final on 11th September.

The third match will be between Bangladesh and Afghanistan on August 29 while India will play their second match of the tournament on August 30 with a Qualifier, who has yet not been decided. The final of the tournament will be played on September 11 at the Dubai International stadium.
The India vs Pakistan contest is huge awaited as many fans are excited to watch the two teams in action before they hopefully clash again at the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 set to take place in Australia later this year.
The last time India met Pakistan was also at the T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE at the same venue and in that game, the Babar Azam-led side had properly punished India, winning the match by 10 wickets.
India are defending champions in Asia Cup. They won the tournament, four years ago in UAE only. But that was a fifty-over format. The Asia Cup is back to being a 20-over format this year. It was played in T20 format in 2016 as well and that edition was also won by MS Dhoni-led India.
Pakistan are in good T20 form, having done well in many series back home. They are a rising team in the shortest format of the game and will take on India, who are World No 1 currently.
The T20 World Cup-bound teams, especially, would be looking to prepare for the mega event in November. India, Pakista, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh would be eyeing to come out with their best 15 for the T20 World Cup. The tickets for the game are yet to open but expect them to be sold out within minutes as Dubai has a massive Indian and Pakistani population. Because India and Pakistan do not play each other so much in bilateral series, their clashes in Asia Cups and World Cups are awaited by fans.
The Asia Cup 2022 will broadcast on Star Sports Network and Hotstar in India.
