New Delhi: Mahela Jayawardene is known for hitting huge sixes and playing consistent innings on the 22 yards pitch. He is one of the calmest batsmen in the world, who hardly has ever shown any form of aggression on the field. The right handed batsman truly defines the full meaning of the Gentleman's Game.
However to his shock, he was trolled by a user on Twitter on the occassion of International Women's Day, which is celebrated on 8th March every year. For Indians, the sound of his name "Mahela" is similar to "Mahila" which means woman in hindi.
The troll tweeted
Happy women's day to the best srilankan cricketer #womensday

Jayawardene took care of the situation calmly just like he used to calmly face a fierce bowler and replied
You should know the difference of Mahela and Mahila?

Even after retiring, the former captain has a lot of respect in the hearts of his fans and many Indians defended him.

He played 149 Tests, 448 ODIs and 55 T20I for Sri Lanka scoring 11,814; 12,650 and 1493 runs respectively. He scored 54 centuries. His highest score of 374 in Test is still the highest score ever by a Sri Lankan.
