New Delhi: VVS Laxman is one of the best batsmen to have ever played for India in Tests as well as ODIs. His skill to use his wrist and hit the ball against the spin was often considered remarkable.

Laxman, 42, was not only a great batsman but also a very good fielder in slips. Sometimes, he use to field at bat pad position as situation demanded.

In 2003-04 VB series, during a match between India-Zimbabwe, Laxman was in full flow, whether it was batting or fielding. The elegant right hander single-handedly won the match for his team. He scored classy 131 runs from 138 balls with 13 boundaries and a six to his name.

VVS also took two superb catches, first one at second slip to dismiss Travis Friend and the second one in the last over of the match to dismiss Andy Blignaut.

The left-hander played an uppish shot to clear the boundary rope but was caught by a running Laxman from mid-wicket, who took a tumbling catch to put the match in India's favour.
