England leveled the series 1-1 after beating India by 86 runs. The England batsmen were clinical in their performance with Joe Root and Eion Morgan helping their team. Root scored a stunning 113 runs off 116 balls. Declared as the man of the match, Root came in 3rd and got run out by MS Dhoni on the last ball of first innings. Eion Morgan and bowler David Willey helped by completing their half-centuries with Morgan hitting 53 runs from 51 balls and Willey making 50 runs off 31 balls.
While MS Dhoni completed his 10,000 ODI runs and became the 4th Indian to hold the feat, he still couldn't lead India to win the match. Players like Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul failed to go on big scores. Although, Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina gave hopes when they shared an 80 run- partnership but Moeen Ali took Virat Kohli's wicket to send him off with 45 runs off 56 balls.
