BCCI to honour India's Fab Five at IPL opening ceremony

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will felicitate batting legends Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag during the opening ceremony of Indian Premier Leagu (IPL).

The IPL governing council, which met in Delhi on Thursday, made the decision to honour the batting greats.

"The decision was taken at the GC meeting today that five legends of Indian cricket -- Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag will be felicitated during the opening ceremony in Hyderabad on April 5," IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla told reporters after the completion of IPL GC meet.

Known as the Fab Five, they have represented the golden age of Indian batting across the 1990s and the first decade of the new millennium.
