New Delhi: The 2017 edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) started with a blockbuster match in Hyderabad yesterday, with defending champions Sunrisers beating a Virat Kohli-less Royal Challengers Bangalore by 35 runs.

But somewhere in Pune, former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was busy, practicing for the second match of the season. The 35-year-old was even caught doing refining his famous helicopter shots in the nets.

Rising Pune Supergiant shared a video online, wherein a fitter and surely meaner Dhoni was seen mingling with his team-mates, including skipper Steve Smith, their costliest buy Ben Stokes and mercurial Ajinkya Rahane.

It's worth noting that Dhoni was replaced as the skipper of the team earlier this years, installing Aussie Smith in his place.

He will be seen in action later in the day. when the Pune-based team host Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians at home.
