New Delhi: Gujarat Lions wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik shocked everyone on Friday by playing probably the most insane cricket shot ever against Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Trent Boult in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at Rajkot.
It happened in the last over of the match, and with Lions pushing for some quick runs, Karthik prepared himself to play that audacious shot against a pacer. Pretty dangerous! Here's the VIDEO, courtesy IPL.
Karhtik hit the third ball for a four, and he pre-meditated the next delivery well. He shuffled, walking across the width of the pitch to play a reverse shot, and he found the connection.
The ball flew over the fielder for a four.
Those who are familiar with Bollywood movies, will find Karthik's attempt similar to that of Guran's (played by Rajesh Vivek) in blockbuster Lagaan.
Karthik, however, was caught at long-on off the next ball. He made 47 off 25 balls, with the help pf six fours and two sixes. A thoroughly entertaining knock.
Despite posting a good total of 183/4, Lions lost to KKR as Gautam Gambhir and Chris Lynn ran amok in Rajkot.
