New Delhi: Beleaguered Gujarat Lions faced yet another blow in this Indian Premier League campaig with the news of Dwyane Bravo being ruled out for the rest of the season owing to injury broke on April 23. It was only late into the Sunday night that the West Indies all-rounder posted a heart-felt letter on his Twitter account saying that it was one of the hardest decisions he has ever taken.

News about Bravo's injury was doing rounds much ahead of the tenth season of Indian Premier League. However, he was indeed slowly recovering, returning to practice nets and much was being speculated about his mid-season return. But it seems that his injury might have worsened and hence taking more time than the expected date of recovery.

Keshav Bansal, the Gujarat Lions owner, took to social media to announce the news of his injury and that he wont be making it back for the remaining of the IPL matches. He tweeted, "Going to miss this Champion! Unfortunately, he has been ruled out this season due to injury! I wish him all the best for a speedy recovery!"

Hours later Dwayne posted a letter along with a tweet where he spoke about the injury and even went ahead to apologise to his teammates, fans and the owner for not living upto their expectations. He wrote, "It is with deep regret that I announce my decision to withdraw from the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League, owing to my hamstring injury."

He indeed mentioned the fact that he was on a later stage, part of the practice session and that must have raised expectation from both his teammates and his fans, who saw glimpses of those practice sessions on the Gujarat Lions official Twitter page. He further added, "While recovery is going well and I have made vast improvement and have participated in team training with the Lions, my body is not ready to perform at its fullest potential. Unfortunately, I am simply not able to perform at my best which is what my team, fellow cricketers, and fans deserve."

The entire letter posted along with the tweet which said, "One of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make but it’s for the best.Thank you for your support & understanding #GujaratLions #IPL2017"
