New Delhi: The 10th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) is only in its first weekend, but we have already witnessed plenty of unforgettable moments, from MS Dhoni's sarcastic DRS call to Dinesh Karthik's pre-meditated shot.
But on Saturday, Dan Christian trumped them all by playing two back-to-back cool shots against Sandeep Sharma at Indore. The Aussie all-rounder, coming to bat late in Rising Pune Supergiant innings, showed his improvisation skills like no one.
In the 20th over, he hit the second ball – a full and wide delivery from Kings XI Punjab bowler — for a four by reaching to it, and getting a fine touch.
He followed it up with another brilliantly impoverished shot, over the wicketkeeper's head. He lifted the ball over the keeper in such a calm manner that it earned plaudits from everyone.
He then hit the next ball for a six, but ended up losing his wicket in the penultimate delivery.
Supergiant managed 163/6, thanks to late onslaught, but lost the match to Kings XI Punjab by six wickets.
