IPL 2017, MI vs SRH: Ambati Rayudu regaining full fitness leaves Mumbai Indians with problem of plenty

New Delhi: Two-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians, who are currently on a six-match winning streak, are all set to face the problem of plenty in the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). While the Rohit Sharma-led side is looking the most balanced team in the competition, Ambati Rayudu, who missed out on six matches due to an injury, is now fit to join the squad.

Rayudu was stretchered off the field in Mumbai's first match against Rising Pune Supergiant after suffering a groin injury. While Rayudu's injury was expected to weaken the squad, it wasn't the case as Mumbai have got off to one of their best starts in the IPL history.

While Rayudu's fans wanted to know an update regarding his recovery, the 31-year-old took to Twitter on Monday to write, "To all da ppl who were concerned bout my injury. I was declared fit a few days back nd I hav been trainin hard nd eagerly awaiting a call up."

Since all the Indian players who were a part of the playing XI post Rayudu's injury have chipped in with crucial performances, the Mumbai think tank now has a headache which they wouldn't mind at all.

In their opening match, Mumbai rested veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who has picked five wickets from six matches so far. While the Turbanator doesn't have many wickets under his belt this season, Bhajji's economy rate has been brilliant as he has kept things tight from one end.

Since the Pandya brothers have done an excellent job as all-rounders, team management might not want to drop any of them. Rohit Sharma, Parthiv Patel and Nitish Rana are the other Indian players in the team and keeping their performances in mind, it is unlikely that any of them would be dropped.

With plenty of bowling options up his sleeves, Rohit might once again include Rayudu in place of Harbhajan, only if need be. At the moment, keeping their prolific run-scoring spree in mind, Rayudu might have to be at the bench for some more time.
