New Delhi: Rising Pune Supergiant batsman Manoj Tiwary suffered a personal tragedy on Tuesday morning after his father Shyam Shankar Tiwary passed away.

The news was revealed by stand-in RPS' stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane during the toss against DD. The 31-year-old batsmen made himself unavailable for the match and was replaced by Maharashtra all-rounder Rahul Tripathi in the playing XI.

The news came just a few days after Delhi Daredevils' Rishabh Pant had lost his father following a cardiac arrest. The 19-year-old, who was training with his Delhi Daredevils teammates, rushed to his hometown to meet his family and perform the last rites.

Pant, quickly returned for the Delhi franchise's match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday, April 8, and scored a stunning half-century, albeit in losing cause.
