New Delhi: Mercurial Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Thursday once again showed his hitting prowess by punishing the season's leading wicket-taker Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the Sunrisers Hyderabad-Rising Pune Supergiant match of the Indian Premier League 2017.
Coming into bat after the fall of Ben Stokes, the former RPS captain took some time to settle, then in the penultimate over, changed the gear. And the unlucky bowler who bore the brunt of Dhoni's wrath was Bhuvi, his India team-mate.
Dhoni defended the first ball, a well executed yorker. But the next ball was hit for a four. A wide followed, then Dhoni played a pull shot to perfection. The ball sailed over the deep mid-wicket boundary.
It was followed by another six, hitting a flat six over extra cover.

The over yielded 19 runs, but Dhoni departed in the next over. Caught behind, thanks to a brilliant take from Naman Ojha, full credit to Siddarth Kaul for his bouncer.
Pune scored 148/8 in their stipulated 20 overs, with Dhoni contributing 31 off 21 balls.
