New Delhi: Mumbai Indians lost the wicket of talented Saurabh Tiwary in a strange way against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on Saturday.

Tiwary, 27, batted beautifully with Ambati Rayudu to post a 61-run stand for the third wicket and helped Mumbai set a challenging target of 174 runs for Kolkata in their IPL match.

But their rather impressive partnership was blotted by a messy run-out, resulting in the departure of Tiwary off the last ball of 16th over.

It happened so, a Umesh Yadav slower delivery was played by Rayudu without much conviction, and the ball landed in the path of bowler's follow through.

Rayudu dashed off for a single, but Tiwary was there unmoved; and when the latter finally made the move, he was already beaten to the crease by a sprinting Yadav.

Here's the video:

During the innings break, Rayudu said that Tiwary needs to improve his running.

"He (Tiwary) definitely needs to improve his running. With four overs to go, that's not the way," he said.
