New Delhi: Ben Stokes is a rockstar. The things that he does in a cricket field can leave fans mesmerised. The 2017 edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) has already witnessed him proving his worth by winning matches for Rising Pune Supergiant with both bat and ball.

But on Friday, during Pune's match against Delhi Daredevils, the England all-rounder showed his fielding skills too — a brilliant direct hit to dismiss Delhi opener Sanju Samson early in the match.

Delhi skipper Zaheer Khan won the toss and elected to bat first at home. But soon, the hosts lost their leading scorer of the season through a run-out, thanks to a Stokes brilliance.

Jaydev Unadkat bowled the last ball of the first over to Karun Nair, who played it towards backward point. Stokes picked up the ball quickly and fired a direct throw which left Samson stranded.

Here's the video:

As seen in the video, Samson wasn't even in the frame when the stumps castled in the air.

Stokes was bought for a whopping Rs 14.5 crores, making him the most expensive overseas player ever in IPL.

He is likely to leave the tournament early to join the Three Lions for a three-match ODI series against South Africa starting May 24.
