New Delhi: Teen sensation Rishabh Pant on Thursday made a mockery of limited-overs specialist James Faulkner in a 24-run over during the Delhi Daredevils-Gujarat Lions IPL match in Delhi.
Chasing a 209-run target, Delhi rode on Pant (97 off 43) and Sanju Samson (61 off 31) to register a convincing seven-wicket win against the visitors. But the highlight of the match was Pant's batting. The 19-year-old from Haridwar hit nine sixes and six fours in a batting display which will be remembered for a long time.
And the highlight of his knock was, of course, the 11th over of the second innings, bowled by Aussie Faulkner. Pant started the over with a four, played towards backward square leg. It was followed by a six, which was slogged over mid-wicket. A big one.
For a change, it was followed by a leg bye and a single, with Pant's partner Sanju Samson giving him a free-hand.
Then, came two back-to-back sixes. First one sailed over the square leg boundary, while the second one goes over long-on. The sight of a dejected Lions captain Suresh Raina said everything.

Pant, however, failed to complete his hundred. He got out on 97, caught behind off the bowling of Basil Thampi.
