The pitch gradually slowed down, offering grip and turn that played into the strengths of their spinners, particularly Jadeja and Theekshana, who were outstanding. Together, they claimed 4 wickets for 46 runs in 8 overs, shifting the balance in favour of CSK during the middle overs. Additionally, Deepak Chahar, who had already dismissed Saha early in the innings, returned to remove Shubman Gill, significantly denting GT's batting lineup. The enthusiastic crowd at Chepauk experienced some anxious moments towards the end due to Rashid Khan's impressive batting display.
