Kings XI Punjab vs Kolkata Knight Riders, Indian Premier League 2020 Match 46: As it happened

Mandeep Singh and Chris Gayle notched up a half-century each to guide Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) to a crucial eight-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match 46 of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in Sharjah on Monday.

Mandeep Singh and Chris Gayle notched up a half-century each to guide Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) to a crucial eight-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match 46 of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in Sharjah on Monday.

Chasing a 150-run target, KL Rahul and Mandeep Singh provided a decent start to the Punjab-based franchise by stitching a 47-run stand before the skipper-cum opener was caught lbw by Varun Chakravarthy to depart for 28.

Mandeep Singh (61) then joined forces with Chris Gayle (51) and the duo smashed a fifty each besides also sharing a 100-run stand for the second wicket to help KXIP cross the mark in 18.5 overs.

Earlier, Mohammed Shami picked up three wickets for 35 runs, while Chris Jordan and Ravi Bishnoi bagged two wickets each as KKR were restricted to a score of 149/9. Opener Shubman Gill (57 runs off 45 balls) and skipper Eoin Morgan (25-ball 40) were notable contributors for KXIP.
